Con la paura che qualcuno veda
che sto rovinando un altro giorno
Cerco di essere sensibile
Ma ogni volta che ti vedo, le mie labbra si arricciano
Mi guardo allo specchio per vedere come sono
(Disperato) Mi sono avvicinato a te giocosamente
Ma mi sono bloccato subito, il ghiaccio
Quando hai detto che volevi che piovesse
Volevo nascondermi sotto un ombrello
Perchรฉ mi comporto cosรฌ ogni volta che ti vedo?
Come una nuvola che si muove lentamente
Nei tuoi occhi che sono cosรฌ dolci
Continua a piovere
Voglio abbracciarti, forse sono pazzo
Nuvola, nuvola, coprimi
Sono curioso di sapere come ti senti in questi giorni
Posso vederlo nel modo in cui parli, nel tuo viso, anche nel modo in cui cammini
Ogni tanto fai un sospiro
Le preoccupazioni si accumulano all'infinito
(Prego) Voglio buttare via
Tutte quelle preoccupazioni inutili
Finchรฉ le stelle non cadranno dal cielo
Vuoi parlare con me?
Perchรฉ mi comporto cosรฌ ogni volta che ti vedo?
Come una nuvola che si muove lentamente
Nei tuoi occhi che sono cosรฌ dolci
Continua a piovere
Voglio abbracciarti, forse sono pazzo
Nuvola, nuvola, coprimi
Nuvoloso, nebbioso, tempo leggermente scuro
Ventoso, piovoso, verrรฒ da te con il vento
Non ammalarti, non bagnarti sotto la pioggia
Ti presterรฒ la mia spalla
So che mi manca, ma il posto su cui puoi appoggiarti รจ ampio e comodo
Perchรฉ mi comporto cosรฌ ogni volta che ti vedo?
Come una nuvola che si muove lentamente
Nei tuoi occhi che sono cosรฌ dolci
Continua a piovere
Voglio abbracciarti, forse sono pazzo
Nuvola, nuvola, coprimi
quando sono con te
Ero cosรฌ innamorato, baby
Anche se non riesco a dormire, quando ti vedrรฒ domani mattina
Voglio stringerti, dico sul serio
Nuvola, nuvola, avvolgimi
Nuvola, nuvola, abbracciami
Afraid that someone will see
I’m ruining yet another day
I try to act sensitive
But whenever I see you, my lips curl up
I look in the mirror to see how I look like
(Desperate) I approached you playfully
But I froze up right away, ice
When you said you wished it would rain
I wanted to hide under an umbrella
Why do I act like this whenever I see you?
Like a slowly moving cloud
In your eyes that are so sweet
It keeps raining
I wanna hug you, maybe I’m crazy
Cloud, cloud, cover me
I’m curious about how you feel these days
I can see it in the way you talk, your face, even the way you walk
You let out a sigh every once in a while
Worries stacking up endlessly
(I pray) I want to throw away
All those useless worries
Till the stars spill from the sky
Will you talk with me?
Why do I act like this whenever I see you?
Like a slowly moving cloud
In your eyes that are so sweet
It keeps raining
I wanna hug you, maybe I’m crazy
Cloud, cloud, cover me
Cloudy, misty, slightly dark weather
Windy, rainy, I’m gonna go to you with the wind
Don’t get sick, don’t get wet in the rain
I’ll lend you my shoulder
I know I lack but the place you can lean on is broad and comfortable
Why do I act like this whenever I see you?
Like a slowly moving cloud
In your eyes that are so sweet
It keeps raining
I wanna hug you, maybe I’m crazy
Cloud, cloud, cover me
when I am with you
I used to be so in love baby
Even though I can’t sleep, when I see you tomorrow morning
I wanna hold you, I mean it
Cloud, cloud, wrap around me
Cloud, cloud, hug me
์๋ ! Hey y’all and welcome to our first Level 2 lesson! I want to teach a pretty simple sentence ending that you hear all the time in Korean. You might already recognize this from K-pop songs and K-dramas. We are going to learn how to say “I want to [verb]” using -๊ณ ์ถ๋ค. ์์ํด ๋ณผ๊น์? Shall we start?
Verb stem + ๊ณ ์ถ๋ค = I want to [verb]
The word ์ถ๋ค is generally translated as “to want.” ์ถ๋ค, however, is an auxiliary adjective and cannot be used on its own. Rather, it needs to be used to modify a verb. This verb is what you’re saying you want to do. By adding -๊ณ ์ถ๋ค to a given verb stem, you are expressing that you want to do that verb.
์ถ๋ค is conjugated as ์ถ์ด์ in the formal present-tense. ์ถ์ด is the informal present-tense conjugation.
Essentially all you have to do is add -๊ณ ์ถ๋ค to a verb stem in order to say that you want to do something. Let’s look at some examples:
1. ์ง์ ๊ฐ๊ณ ์ถ์ด์. = I want to go home.
- ๊ฐ๋ค = to go
- ๊ฐ + ๊ณ ์ถ์ด์ = ๊ฐ๊ณ ์ถ์ด์ = I want to go
- ์ง์ ๊ฐ๊ณ ์ถ์ด์ = I want to go home
2. ๋ด๋ ์ ์ ํํ๊ณ ์ถ์ด์. = I want to study abroad next year.
- ์ ํํ๋ค = to study abroad
- ์ ํํ + ๊ณ ์ถ์ด์ = ์ ํํ๊ณ ์ถ์ด์ = I want to study abroad
- ๋ด๋ ์ ์ ํํ๊ณ ์ถ์ด์ = I want to study abroad next year
3. ๊ทธ ์ ์ธ ๋ฅผ ์ฌ๊ณ ์ถ์ด์. = I want to buy that shirt.
- ์ฌ๋ค = to buy
- ์ฌ + ๊ณ ์ถ์ด์ = ์ฌ๊ณ ์ถ์ด์ = I want to buy it
- ๊ทธ ์ ์ธ ๋ฅผ ์ฌ๊ณ ์ถ์ด์ = I want to buy that shirt
4. ์ง๊ธ์ ์ง์ง ํผ๊ณคํด์. ์ฌ๊ณ ์ถ์ด์. = I am really tired now. I want to rest.
- ์ง๊ธ = now
- ์ง์ง = really
- ํผ๊ณคํ๋ค = to be tired
- ์ฌ๋ค = to rest
- ์ฌ + ๊ณ ์ถ์ด์ = ์ฌ๊ณ ์ถ์ด์ = I want to rest
You hear this one all the time in Korean:
5. ๋ณด๊ณ ์ถ์ด์. = I miss you.
- ๋ณด๋ค = to see / to watch / to look
- ๋ณด + ๊ณ ์ถ์ด์ = ๋ณด๊ณ ์ถ์ด์ = I want to see [noun]
- This can literally mean “I want to see you,” but it is usually translated as “I miss you.” When you miss someone, you want to see them!
[noun] ๊ฐ๊ณ ์ถ๋ค = I want [noun]
Now that we know how to say we want to do an action, let’s learn how to say we want something. You may hear the verb ์ํ๋ค to mean “to want” when talking about wanting a noun. In a lot of k-pop songs, for instance, you may hear:
๋ ๋ ์ํด = I want you
There’s nothing really wrong with this sentence, but there’s a more natural/common way to say that you want a noun. ์ํ๋ค isn’t used so much in regular conversation. Rather, you hear [noun] ๊ฐ๊ณ ์ถ๋ค more often.
The verb ๊ฐ๋ค is a shortened version of the verb ๊ฐ์ง๋ค, which means “to have.” Thus, you can say [noun] ๊ฐ๊ณ ์ถ๋ค to literally mean “I want to have [noun].” For example:
1. ๋ฌผ ๊ฐ๊ณ ์ถ์ด์ = I want water
2. ๋ ํฐ ์ง ๊ฐ๊ณ ์ถ์ด์ = I want a bigger house
*Notice how these sentences can simply be translated as “I want…” rather than “I want to have…”
