"The band, 빛과 소금 (The Light 빛 and 과 Salt 소금,) made debut in 1990. Up to date the most commercially successful song, 샴푸의 요정 (shampoo fairy) of the band is in its debut album.

In its heyday, the band was considered the leading group of sophisticated, rather Western, sensitive and sensible melody, arrangements and lyrics.

However, the song, 내 곁에서 떠나가지 말아요, (Don’t leave by my side) in its second album, is more of a solemn and gloomy song.

Asking a lover to stay by his (because the band members are all men) side is sad, blue and even heartrending. The calm and gentle voice tone of the singer magnifies the mood.

The band surely is considered a pioneer of its generation. 

Still, when I listen to this song, I always picture a very young, devastated, lonely but still happy (because he is in love!) man.  

The song is sung by different singers of its following generation. "
